I strive to offer books, teaching and speaking engagements for little or no cost. I am a strong believer in making Christian teachings available to as many people as possible by not over charging.
I am Steve Crenshaw, and I am a convert to the Orthodox Church. I found the completion of my theology only came through the theology of the Ancient Church. My family and I spent 17 years at the same church. While we were there I received a degree in religion and believed that I was going to become a pastor. I truly believed God was calling me to be the pastor of that church, but it was never to be.
We struggled for our last five years there as we tried to focus more and more on Christ and helping others do the same. As leaders, we kept removing things from worship and focusing more on the experience and less on God. That is how we believed churches grew and that is why I left.
Today I write about the Orthodox Church its Spirituality and traditions. I use what I learned from church leadership as a protestant to help Orthodox Churches not make the same mistakes. I also try and help people understand Orthodoxy and that it is not Catholic for non-English speakers. It is a separate Church that Like Catholicism traces its roots to the beginning of the Original Church.
I am writing The Ancient Church Today: A Layman’s Guide to the Orthodox Church. It is scheduled to be released next summer. and I Am working on a podcast to release after the first of the year called Life of a Pilgrim.
The very spiritual men of old did not need spiritual books. They did not have such a great need to read many patristic books, because they constantly contemplated things about God. Whatever they saw immediately gave them an opportunity to meditate upon something. (Elder Ephraim of St Anthony’s Monastery)
