A growing faith is what will drive you as a Christian. Not blind faith that says everyone is wrong, but faith that understands not everyone believes what you believe, and you love them anyway.
You can’t hate someone you pray for St John Chrysostom
I was with them, and I will be with you even when you can’t feel me. Don’t trust in feelings, rely on me to give you strength and to increase your faith. Trust in me is where true faith comes from. (Hebrews 11:1-3)
We have a great High King who is above and beyond our comprehension but is also residing inside us. When we really are ready to give everything over to Him, He will be there for us. Whatever you are worrying about, whatever you are dreading, whatever sin you are holding onto he is waiting for you to trust him enough to turn it over.
I have carried things for years believing that I can fix them, heal them, or change them. I had a growing faith but was falling short because I could not trust God enough to turn these things over. When I took the time to inventory these things, then turn them over to Christ, each time I could feel the weight of the world being lifted from my shoulders. Only then could I truly grow in my faith.
You probably know that I’m right. You’ve seen it in your own life. You have a growing faith and want closeness with God but for some reason you stand-off waiting and wanting. Take some time to inventory your life. Where are you holding on to things you need to let go? What do you need to do that you are refusing to do? Who do you need to let go of and let God deal with?
